Mock Job Fair

The first "Mock Interview" for the 7-9 a.m. morning class for the students at Westfield South was held on February 10, 2017. Six classes participated in the event. A lot of preparation and writing of resumes and cover letters were incorporated in the lesson plans in class. Practice interviews were also conducted in class.

Job Advertisements were created solely for the purpose of the Mock Job Fair and were posted for job seekers around the room for the Mock Interview on the day of the activity. Tables and chairs were arranged around the room for the interview process. Teachers and advanced students volunteered as interviewers. The student interviewers did a wonderful job and were very professional. Students took the Mock Job Fair and mock interview process very seriously. They were very well-dressed and had their resumes and cover letters on hand for a 5- to 10-minute interview. Feedback was given to each student after the interview. Some students requested a second interview with a different interviewer because they valued the practice interview. Many thanks to our mentor Irena, Tsirigotis for helping make the Mock Job Fair and Mock Interview concept a reality. Thank you to all the teachers!
