On June 5th we visited Union Station. It was a new experience for us; we met the most important train station. The place was opened on 1907. It is located at 50 Massachusetts Avenue, NE Washington DC. Around 200,000 people passed through every day. Union Station is best known for their passenger services which includes Amtrak, Virginia Railway Express (VRE), and Maryland Commuter Rail System (MARC).

In this place there are wonderful monuments. They have beautiful roofs and spacious corridors; the architecture is really elegant and looks antique. Its ceiling is made of more than 70 gold leafing. Union Station has three floors. We can find on the first and second floor a food court that has 29 restaurants: fast food, cafes, and fine dining restaurants for example Chop’s Salad, Chipotle, Subway, Mc Donald’s etc. Also there are stores such as Victoria Secret, H&M, Nine West, Jewelries among others.

Now we know of other accessible ways to travel by train around the metropolitan area and to other destinations outside of the area. Thank you Mrs Myra For taking us there
