Cherry Blossoms
On April, 15, 2015 six of us from Intermediate 2 at WS went to DC to see the cherry blossom trees. We went with our teacher, Ketely Desjardins and three other classes. We took the Red and Orange lines to the Smithsonian metro station. From there, we walked to the Roosevelt Memorial park. The teacher told us about the origin of the trees. We took pictures. We walked along the river and saw trees, boats, people jogging, two men fishing, and a man cleaning the park. He said not to pick flowers to protect the trees. We read the signs and the story of the trees. We learned that “: On January 6, 1910, two thousand trees arrived in Washington, D.C. as a gift of the Japanese government. The trees are beautiful. We walked to the Jefferson Memorial and took some pictures. We saw the Washington memorial in the distance. The weather was very nice. We enjoyed the trip. We want to go back there with our family.
